The Dome

The Dome

Dome Music gets its name and inspiration from our geodesic dome headquarters located in Saint Paul, MN. The structure's distinct acoustic character and natural reverb can be heard on nearly every track produced within its walls.

With spacious 25 foot ceilings and at least half a dozen unique recording and performance spaces to choose from, our versatile studio can match the ambience of a concert hall, the pure and sterile sound of a modern recording studio, and anything in between.

The Studio

The Studio

The recording studios here at Dome Music are outfitted with cutting edge audio equipment that can be set up to accommodate musical acts of just about any size or genre. As an alternative to a digitally simulated reverberation effect, our natural Dome Reverb can either be recorded live or added in post production by re-recording a clean track in one of our domed reverb rooms.

Way more than just a music studio, Dome Music offers everything you need to share your art with the world. Once a track is mixed and mastered downstairs, the dome's top floor office handles the publishing, distribution, and marketing side. More comparable to a true music community than a traditional record label, we're always on the lookout for new local artists to join our network of music makers, music teachers, and music lovers.

The Man

Frank Leo started his music career as a youth concert cellist, receiving his classical training from the MacPhail Center for Music in downtown Minneapolis. After branching out from classical music, Frank has since established himself as a skilled multi-instrumentalist, composer, and audio engineer in the Twin Cities music scene.

Also an experienced high school physics teacher, Frank has always been fascinated by the intersection of science and music. His mission with Dome Music is to use both his physics and musical training to optimize the beautiful acoustics of the geodesic dome and help musicians achieve the best sound possible in this one-of-a-kind structure.
